There are four things you need to control in the game of lacrosse:
- Control the Ball (posession is key, they can't get goals if they can't get the ball)
- Control the Opponent (defense is important, taking away lanes, not letting attackers cut through the house, reduces scoring chances)
- Control the Clock (back to possession, if you use the full 30 seconds of each shot clock and your opponent doesn't, it's simple math says you have the ball more than the opposition, you get scoring chances, they don't have the ball, they don't get scoring chances)
- Control your Emotions (this allows you to stay focused and stay out of the penalty box! I think this one is self explanatory but in a 45 minutes of running time who wants to waste 2 watching the game from a glass booth?)
